There is a growing body of reputable research which suggests that motivational-enhancement interventions may be effective for reducing alcohol use and negative consequences in the context of prevention for college students; these intervention tools are nonjudgmental and not confrontational, and have the goal of enhancing student's intrinsic motivation to change behavior by educating them about the effects of alcohol abuse.
Though there are lots of so-called "hangover cures," the only real cure is time. The best thing to do the day after heavy drinking is down lots of water and try to rest if possible.
Some signs of a drinking problem include drinking alone, to escape problems, or for the sole purpose of getting drunk; hiding alcohol in odd places; getting irritated when you are unable to obtain alcohol to drink; and having problems because of your drinking.
